Join our client's diversified rural business, with a focus on luxury, they provide exceptional facilities used for weddings, events and much more in a sustainble way. Our client is offered a full time live in arrangement with this position - where as part of the role you will be offered a 3 bedroom house in the beautiful surroundings of the estate. This role is based close to Ipswich, in a beautiful area of Suffolk.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a live-in Estate and Grounds Maintenance Manager to oversee and maintain our estates, grounds, and various facilities. This role includes managing buildings, landscapes, vehicles, offices, and custodial maintenance activities. The successful candidate will ensure all machinery is in good working order, implement preventative measures, and keep the grounds immaculate. Specific qualifications are desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high-quality appearance of grounds and venues year-round.
  • Oversee and coordinate all maintenance tasks, ensuring timely completion.
  • Manage working patterns and logistics effectively.
  • Build, develop, and lead a proactive maintenance team.
  • Respond to maintenance emergencies and requests promptly.
  • Monitor and enforce safety procedures and efficiencies.
  • Provide training and instruction to staff and contractors.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • High attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently within time and weather constraints.
  • Relevant experience in grounds, gardening, or estate maintenance is preferred.
  • Experience with agricultural equipment (tractors, mowers, hedge cutters) and equipment maintenance.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety practices and Risk Assessments.
  • Ability to manage own workload and supervise others effectively.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Basic plumbing and electrical maintenance skills.
  • Willingness to learn all operating systems.

Preferred Skills (Not Essential):

  • Scissor lift operation
  • Working at height
  • First aid certification
  • PAT testing certification
  • Chainsaw training
  • Horticultural and gardening experience (PA1, PA2, PA6 certifications desirable)
  • Knowledge of air source heat pumps, irrigation systems, boreholes, and generators

Additional Details:

  • Live-in position with accommodation provided.
