Job Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Fleet Operations Manager to join our passionate and driven team based at our client’s site in Ipswich

Reporting to the Head of Fleet, the role of Fleet Operations Manager is a strategic role with primary responsibility for managing the UK & Ireland’s Fleet function to ensure Fleet provides a world class service to its stakeholders, mitigating risk and enhancing efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Functional

  • Working alongside the Head of Fleet to Lead the organisations drive to Carbon Net Zero, seeing Fleet as an enabler and managing the fleet through to an EV solution by creating a robust EV strategy and delivering throughout the organisation.
  • Working alongside other Fleet Operations Managers and Fleet Administration manager to control the day-to-day management of all aspects of the Fleet department.
  • Drive systems and process to provide qualitative data is used to drive business decisions ensuring its accuracy, ease of access and reliability.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to build strong, productive relationships that provide value to the Fleet department.
  • Form strong, productive relationships with both the business and the supply base ensuring the UK and Ireland business is the customer of choice leading to business growth and profitability.
  • Supporting transformation within the Fleet team and implementing change management throughout the organization.
  • Champion telematics reporting to divisions to demonstrate and improve drive behaviour and engagement. 
  • Support the roles and functions of internal partners in areas such as compliance, audit, legal etc and encourage their support in establishing ethical behaviours and cultures.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders and communicate CSR and sustainability standards (ISO14000; ISO26000; ISO20400) identifying any alleged breach of standards and taking appropriate actions.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders and communicate Modern Slavery standards e.g. UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 or equivalent international standard, identifying any alleged breach of standards and taking appropriate actions
  • Ensure you are supporting and leading a safety-first approach on Fleet management.
  • Ensure the organisation at all times is compliance with law and regulations.
  • Manage supplier relationships to reduce vehicle downtime, vehicle hires, maintenance spend and vehicle live lists.
  • Ensure Fleetwave is the one source of truth in relation to vehicle lists, compliance, financial reporting, and driver allocation.
  • Involvement in all tenders relating to Fleet.
  • Liasing with key stakeholders on specialist vehicles, equipment, and their supply.
  • Project management.

  • Support and promote the UK & Ireland group’s sustainability plans and policies, including the Carbon Management Plan, and carry out duties in a resource effective way, recognizing the shared responsibility of minimizing negative environmental impacts wherever possible.

About You:

  • Applicants must have the right to work in the UK
  • Strong background in a fleet management role
  • Experience working within Facilities Management is an advantage.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively and delegate appropriately.
  • Excellent strategic planning skills.
  • High level of integrity and dependability.
  • Ability to present to and negotiate/influence executive level stakeholders.
  • Fleetwave system experience or similar Fleet Management system experience.
  • High level of competence in full Microsoft suite.
  • Show flexibility in working arrangements to ensure that a high level of service is delivered.
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Have a positive and focused attitude when dealing with all colleagues
  • Be able to take personal responsibility
