Position Overview:

My client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Manager to join its dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing the mechanical design process, ensuring projects meet the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and compliance.

Candidates from both Building Services Design Consultancies and Building Services Contractors will be considered for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the mechanical design process, providing guidance and support throughout the design process.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, architects, engineers, and project managers to understand project requirements and develop innovative design solutions.
  • Oversee the preparation of detailed mechanical designs, including HVAC systems, plumbing, fire protection, and sustainable energy solutions.
  • Review designs to ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Conduct technical evaluations of equipment, materials, and systems to optimize performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and successful delivery of design deliverables.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, implementing best practices and innovative technologies to enhance design efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Proven track record of successfully managing design projects from concept to completion.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC load calculation tools.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor team members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
