Do you possess the skills and enthusiasm to bring the beauty of French to life in the classroom? We are seeking a talented Modern Foreign Languages Teacher specialising in French. Role: Full-Time MFL (French) Teacher Location: Ipswich, Suffolk

About the role

As a Modern Foreign Languages (French) Teacher, you will play a vital role in inspiring students to develop proficiency in the French language and appreciation for French culture. You will deliver dynamic and engaging lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of students, fostering a passion for language learning and intercultural understanding. You will be responsible for planning and implementing high-quality instruction, assessing student progress, and providing constructive feedback to support their language acquisition journey. Additionally, you will contribute to the wider school community through participation in extracurricular activities, departmental initiatives, and collaborative projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver dynamic lessons that promote proficiency in the French language and cultural awareness.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to language learning and personal growth.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies, resources, and technology to enhance student engagement and comprehension.
  • Assess student proficiency through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to students and parents/guardians.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and align curriculum materials, instructional strategies, and assessment tools.
  • Engage students in authentic cultural experiences and opportunities for language immersion.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, professional development activities, and school-wide events as required.
  • Uphold the values and ethos of the school, promoting a culture of respect, diversity, and excellence in education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in French, Modern Foreign Languages, Education, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
  • Proven experience teaching French at the secondary level, with a demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Fluent or near-fluent proficiency in the French language, with strong communication skills in both French and English.
  • Passion for French language, culture, and intercultural exchange.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and collaborative skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
