Responsible to:

Associate Divisional Director

Responsibilities:

  • Lead or assist in managing multi-disciplinary external design teams.
  • Attend client, site, and subcontractor meetings as required.
  • Have basic experience in the leisure, commercial, education, and mixed-use markets, with knowledge of both traditional and modern construction methods.
  • Review all design deliverables, including specialist supplier elements and interfaces, to ensure they are within budget, fully coordinated, and buildable.
  • Coordinate project team comments and resolve any design-related construction queries with the design team.
  • Have knowledge of Building Regulations and the planning process.
  • Understand the basics of the Building Safety Act.
  • Interpret Employers Requirements and other documents, assisting with the development of Contractors Proposals.
  • Understand the design and risk management processes.
  • Produce or assist with design programs/controls to ensure timely information release to procurement and construction delivery teams.
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness and engage in value engineering to enhance value for clients and reduce capital costs.
  • Adhere to and help ensure compliance with all business policies and processes.
  • Assist and contribute to assigned or delegated tasks professionally.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Possess a Degree, HND, or similar qualification in a construction discipline, or be in the process of obtaining such a qualification.
  • Have construction experience, with design experience being desirable.
  • Be articulate and capable of producing clear and concise proposals.
  • Have good IT skills.
  • Be able to work independently and manage their own workload.
  • Be a good team player, working effectively with both internal and external teams.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills.
