An outstanding job opportunity has arisen for a committed Speech and Language Therapist in Ipswich £17.03 - £17.73 per hour DOE. *Golden Hello Bonus of £3000*

Specialism
Acquired brain injury and a range of other neurological conditions such as Huntington’s disease, Parkinson’s, and multiple sclerosis.

Purpose
To work as part of a multi/interdisciplinary team providing speech and language
therapy input within the BIRT neurobehavioral model to clients with acquired brain
injury in liaison with internal and external professionals, relevant social networks
and People We Support.

Qualifications required
• Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
• Registered with the HCPC
• Completed NQPs or a willingness to complete this

Experience, Skills and Ability
• Awareness of speech and language therapy outcome measures
• Awareness of models of practice and assessment tools relevant to discipline
• Awareness of evidence-based practice and how to apply to clinical setting
• Awareness of dysphagia and potential criteria for referral to specialist
• Awareness of current legislation and professional ethics and their application in clinical setting
• Basic knowledge of the principles of clinical governance
• Awareness of health and safety and risk assessments
• Ability to reflect and initially appraise own performance.
• Basic Understanding of Research
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Experience of working in an interdisciplinary team.
