Job Duties: As the Sommelier, you will be responsible for curating an outstanding wine program and providing expert guidance to our guests to enhance their dining experience. Your duties will include:

  • Creating and managing a diverse and carefully curated wine list, ensuring it complements the restaurant's culinary offerings and appeals to a range of tastes and preferences.
  • Assisting guests in selecting wines that complement their meal choices, offering insightful recommendations and sharing knowledge about grape varietals, regions, and flavor profiles.
  • Overseeing wine service and ensuring that all wines are served at the correct temperature and in appropriate glassware, maintaining impeccable standards of presentation and service.
  • Managing the wine cellar, including inventory management, stock rotation, and cellar organization, to ensure the quality and integrity of our wine selection.
  • Conducting regular staff training sessions to educate colleagues about wine appreciation, service techniques, and food pairing principles, fostering a culture of wine excellence throughout the restaurant.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Sommelier in a high-end restaurant or luxury hotel environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of wine regions, grape varietals, vintages, and wine service techniques, with a passion for wine education and guest engagement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with guests and colleagues alike.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
