We are currently seeking dedicated and experienced Residential support workers to join a children's home in Steeton, West Yorkshire

Responsibilities

  • To ensure the care plans, risk assessments and key working sessions are up to date and affectively implemented daily representing best practise and reflective of the child's views wishes and feelings.
  • Model the best practices approaches to working with and supporting children with challenging behaviours.
  • Effectively use handovers and debriefs
  • Ensure all daily tasks are complete, along with health and safety checks
  • Participate in the transition process for children in and out of the home
  • Ensure daily practice within the homes reflects the equality and diversity goals of the company and young people
  • Work effectively with all professionals and multi agencies that are required for the best care of the young people
  • To model best practise approaches during challenging behaviours, ensuring there is coherent and consistent high levels of care
  • Work directly with others in for the best interest of the young people, staff, and company

Requirements

  • Experienced Support worker with a track record of high performance or 1 - 2 years working in a transferable role
  • Diploma level 3 in residential childcare qualification or working towards
  • Ability to work within 24/7 operations
  • DBS on update service or able to pass an enhance DBS check
  • Previous recent experience working in a residential care provision with children and young people with EBD, LD & Complex needs/Mental Health
  • Experience in working within a 24/7 operation
  • Experience in partaking in debriefs with staff who work in challenging behaviours
  • Experience working as a team
  • Learn and adhere to Ofsted 9 quality standards 4 children's home and or 4 quality standard for supported accommodation
  • Previous Successful experience listening to, advocating for, and engaging with decision making processes for young people with their appropriate choices
  • Full, UK Driving Licence (Essential)

Shift Pattern:

36 - 48 hours per week 7am - 7 pm
