Nursery Practitioner

Location:Wren Day Nursery, Stoneleigh Park, Stoneleigh, Kenilworth, CV8 2LG

Salary:Depending on experience and qualifications eg: £23,920 £25,000 (illustration on 40hr week).

Hours:Ideally Full Time -Monday Friday 08.00- 17.30 (42.5 hours)

5 hrs off unpaid per week- staff can choose to take this as 1hr each day or a 5hr block afternoon/ morning off each week.

Open to 4 full working days.

Position is for full year 52 weeks.

Duties and Responsibilities of a Nursery Practitioner:

Ensure the highest standards of quality, practice, care and education are provided to meet the requirements of the EYFS.

Ensure the needs of all children are fully met with regard to their religious persuasion, racial origins, gender, disabilities, cultural or linguistic background and stages of development.

To ensure good standards of hygiene and safety standards appropriate for the needs of young children.

To ensure that health and safety and security measures are constantly maintained.

To be aware of and act in accordance with current legislation, policy and procedures.

To contribute to a programme of activities suitable to the age range of children in yourarea in conjunction with other staff.

To keep a proper record of achievement file on your key children, for parents with regards to planning, observations (min of 1 per month), next steps and progress summaries.

Support all staff and engage in a good staff team.

To work in close partnership and to develop and maintain good relationships with parents / carersand other family members.

To attend all out of working hours activities, eg training, staff meetings, parents evenings,events, etc.

To be flexible within working practices of nursery. Be prepared to help where needed, including toundertake certain domestic jobs within the nursery, e.g. preparation of snack meals, cleansing ofequipment, putting out bins, doing the laundry, etc. Also, flexibility with regard to working in differentrooms as and when required to ensure effective operation of the nursery.

Work alongside the Room Leader and Management team to ensure that the vision, philosophy, and objectives are fulfilled.

To develop your role within the team.

To ensure the provision of a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children fromdiffering cultures and religious backgrounds, and stages of development.

To be aware of the high profile of the nursery and to always uphold its standards.

To be anambassador for Wren Day Nursery both within the nursery and in the wider community.

Essential Criteria of a Nursery Practitioner:

A relevant childcare qualification (Ideally Level 3 but are open to Level 2 staff who would like to complete their Level 3).

An enhanced DBS registered on the update service will be required- Wren will cover 50% cost for any new DBS checks required.

Purpose of a Nursery Practitioner:

To ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children placed in the nursery;

To monitor and give support to the other personnel within the room;

To implement the daily routine in the room.

To liaise with parents/carers

To uphold, follow and monitor all safeguarding procedures and the overall safety of the children in our care.
