The OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced and dedicated Housing Solutions Officer to join our team in delivering effective, person-centred advice and support to individuals and families facing housing difficulties. This pivotal role is instrumental in the prevention of homelessness, supporting those in need to access and sustain suitable accommodation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored housing advice to clients, in line with current legislation and best practice.

  • Conduct assessments of housing needs and eligibility under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.

  • Develop and implement personalised housing plans (PHPs).

  • Liaise with landlords, housing providers, support services, and external agencies to secure appropriate housing solutions.

  • Negotiate to prevent evictions, facilitate tenancy sustainment, and mediate disputes where appropriate.

  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all actions comply with statutory duties and internal procedures.

About YouThe successful candidate will possess:

  • Proven experience supporting those at risk of homelessness or housing instability.

  • In-depth knowledge of homelessness legislation, particularly the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.

  • Familiarity with welfare benefits and their impact on housing options.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and build trust with vulnerable individuals.

  • A resilient and adaptable nature, capable of working under pressure and managing competing priorities.

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with a commitment to delivering high standards of service.

  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
