Are you an experienced Support Worker or Teaching Assistant seeking a role in Specialist Education?

A special school in Knaresborough is seeking an experienced Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school caters for children and young people aged 3 to 16 years with Autism, Learning Disabilities, Downs Syndrome and Complex Medical Needs.

They are looking for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join them on a Monday to Friday basis (long term and short term) depending on your availability to support with some extra pupils they have joining the school. The school would be looking for candidates to start with them over the next couple of weeks and there are full and part time positions available.

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, your roles and responsibilities will be:

  • To build strong rapport with the pupils and support with behaviour management when required.
  • To work alongside the class Teacher with the day-to-day routine of the class.
  • To help run exciting lessons and stimulating activities which help to enhance the students learning and sensory skills.
  • To support with behaviour management if required.
  • To support the pupils with their needs and requirements in accordance to their care plan.
