Our client is arespected and growinginternationalfood manufacturer, supplying high quality products globally. The site in West Wales is profitable and growing fast, and has seen recent multi-million-pound investment. This is a fantastic period to join the site leadership team, with several members who are recent additions to the business, in its pursuit of continuous improvement and manufacturing excellence. The business invests in great people and values their skills, enthusiasm and original thinking. As such, the ideal candidate will have high potential to be a key part of the businesss succession planning.

Due to retirement they are seeking aSite Health, Safety and Environmental Manager, reporting to theSite Manager, to lead HSE across the site of circa 200 people which operates 12-hour shifts, 365 days a year. You will need to bring a high-level of energy, knowledge and experience in driving HSE behavioural change to develop it to the next level, making it truly best in class. Supported by Group HSE and also the HSE Officer reporting into you, you will be autonomously responsible for creating and executing the Health, Safety and Environmental strategy. You will also develop internal HSE processes and policies to ensure its compliance with Life Saving Policies, corporate standards, national HSE legislation and regulations (including ISO45001, 14001 and 50000); whilst driving improvements in Process Safety Management and execution across the business, working in conjunction with engineering and production.

Who were looking for?

  • You will be qualified to at least NEBOSH level and willhave a proven track record of leading HSE in high-risk manufacturing environments with large-scale chemicals use, such as FMCG, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, oil & refineries etc.
  • You will have significant experience of leading cultural change and building anHSE excellence culture, with the ability to drive and facilitate change, by building trust and communicating effectively and with high impact.
  • You will be experienced in creating and executing formal Risk Management programs; with knowledge and experience in attainment ofISO45001, 14001 and 50000.
