Are you an experienced assistant production or manufacturing operative or machine operator looking for a new role that offers varied tasks and a great range of benefits?

We are looking for an assistant Mill Operator to join our team. You will be responsible for assisting with one of our high-speed converting lines and Rewinder, ensuring efficient operation with minimum wastage in accordance with customer specifications.

If you have experience in a factory or manufacturing environment and operating a forklift truck, we want to hear from you!

This role will initially be days based 8am -4.30pm but will the move on to shifts of 2 days followed by 2 nights then 4 days off on successful completion of training.



About the Role

The focus of this assistant Mill Operator role is to operate the Core Winder & Packaging line. Ensuring efficient operation with minimum wastage in accordance with customer specifications and the converting line output. To maintain a high standard of housekeeping, whilst in accordance with all Health and Safety procedures, policies and standards.

assistant Mill Operator duties include:

  • To Operate, assist, monitor or Direct the Packaging Line to resolve any issues.
  • To fully understand the entire Packaging process including loading and unloading of film reels.
  • To assist the converting line process to get the best results possible.
  • To Operate, assist, monitor or Direct the Core Making Line to resolve any issues.
  • To perform Safety Checks and record correctly the results
  • To complete the necessary Safety and Housekeeping duties.
  • o be able to safely wrap, unwrap, weigh, stack, move, load and unload wagons.
  • To provide suitable and sufficient cover for the Warehouse Operator in their absence.
  • To have a good understanding of the Warehouse procedures.

This Assistant Mill Operator role would suit candidates with experience as a Production Operative, Manufacturing Operative, Machine Operator, Factory Operative, Forklift Driver, or similar role. If this sounds like you, apply today!

Essential Skills

  • Forklift truck experience
