Long - Term teachers are working with a fantastic special school located in Hambridge, they also have another base in West- Hatch. Their aim is to support pupils' growth through, they provide a safe and supportive environment. In 2019, the school were the winners of the Positive Behaviour Support Award at the National Learning Disabilities and Autism Awards.

Students at the school will have speech and language delay, impairments or disorder, along with Autistic Spectrum Conditions and/ or moderate and severe learning. Your role of teaching Assistant will be a support to both students and tutors, ensuring their learning needs are met with a positive attitude. You must show confidence and be an excellent role model to pupils, in addition to being flexible to follow instructions from peers.

About the role:

You will be offering 1:1 support to a student who is in year 11, this is a crucial part of the students education as they are preparing for their GCSE’s. You must be able to encouraging, caring however assertive to be able to manage behaviour that challenges. Work will be prepared for you, it will just require you to be enthusiastic with your delivery. There will be regular feedback sessions with senior leadership and students parent/carer to monitor progress.

The hours of work will be 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, term time only. The position will begin on a temporary basis, however the role is secure that you will have continued work until you eventually will be employed directly employed by the school.
