gap healthcare is currently recruiting on behalf of their client a dedicated Residential Children’s Support Worker. As a Residential Children’s Support Worker, you will be a crucial part of the team, providing day-to-day care, support and guidance to children with a range of needs. Your role will involve:
- Building positive, trusting relationships with the children and young adults
- Supporting service users with mental health needs, complex emotional and behavioural challenges
- Assisting with daily routines and activities
- Promoting independence and self-esteem
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in your care
- Participating in sleep-in shifts, providing overnight support as required
Requirements:
- Must have a full, valid, UK driving licence
- Previous experience working with children with mental health needs, challenging behaviours or similar experiences with adults might be considered
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and patient and be understanding in challenging situations
- Relevant qualifications in childcare or social care would be beneficial
