Dalton Recruitment is supporting a National support services firm to secure them a new HR Manager to join the regional HR team and support the Regional HRBP and Head of HR deliver the HR services across the 3000 strong operational workforce for its South East region with contracts spread across London, Surrey & Kent. This is new role in the structure due to divisional growth and sits between the HR Advisors and the HRBP. While the role is manager by title, it does not have any direct reports, but it requires someone with the depth of experience to deliver an operationally focused HR service from a more senior position, as a point of escalation for the HR Advisors and genuine problem solver for the HRBP. The role would need someone to be out and about for 3 days each week meeting contracts managers, site visits, face to face service delivery - with two working from home - so applicants must be able to drive and have work / life flexibility to commit to this kind of routine.
The role requires confidence in resolving complex ER cases across grievance, disciplinary, sickness absence and performance management. TUPE, personal development, talent and succession planning will all feature. Union experience would be useful but not essential. The HR Manager will ensure the effective application of all HR policies, aligning them with regional and business-wide goals. Central to this role is the promotion of a positive and inclusive workplace culture, boosting employee engagement, and advancing diversity and inclusion throughout the region.

Given the multi-site, blue collar operational nature of the client’s services, previous experience within the support services sector is advantageous but as long as skills are transferable, candidates from other sectors will hold equal weight.
There is a full job spec available with all responsibilities on request but the person specification is as follows:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with a strong HR Generalist capacity.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent and/or CIPD qualified.
- Breadth of People Policy and law, in depth UK employment legislation knowledge,
- TUPE experience
- Union experience.
- Problem solving and Conflict resolution
- Customer service orientation
- Implement and embed solutions to meet business needs
- Disciplinary/Grievance investigations and local law advice
- Restructure and union protocols
- Build relationships with managers
