Access to Information Rights Coordinator

Following a restructure of the Legal Services Team, an opportunity has arisen for an information governance professional to join Waverley Borough Council as an Access to Information Rights Coordinator.

The successful applicant will join a supportive team and play a key role in ensuring that the Council complies with its obligations under the various Access to Information legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessing and responding to written requests for information made under access to information legislation
  • Analysing and clarifying information provided by Council Departments
  • Ensuring Information Governance legislation is complied with
  • Developing content for and maintaining content of web pages relevant to Information Access Rights
  • Preparing performance reports related to access to information statistics
  • Providing administrative support to the legal business support team by logging requests for information received by the Council
  • Liaising with Council officers and/or members of the public regarding requests for information

About you:

  • Working knowledge of Freedom of Information and Data Protection legislation
  • Experience of information governance/data management
  • Public sector experience or an understanding of the workings of local government
