Role: Data Solution Architect

Location: Chessington / Hybrid

Rate: c£550 

Solution Architect (Data) required on an initial 6 month contract to design and implement a solution that improves the quality and accuracy of product pricing information provided to customers. The goal is to increase sales volume by presenting customers with their best price based on their specific profile / product schemes.

This will involve:

• Creating the technical solution and taking responsibility for the design and implementation of the solution that will improve the quality and accuracy of product pricing information.
• Building an understanding of the existing landscape and how this will impact the design of a solution that can operate effectively.
• Providing technical leadership and ensuring risk management is understood to identify and mitigate existing business risk or risks associated with solution implementation.
• Operating across the solution end-to-end from its inception through to successful implementation.
• Liaising with key stakeholders across the company, group, and their suppliers.
• Identifying the source data from already identified systems, designing the mechanism for ETL process, understanding the data model, and defining the data model as part of the High-Level Design (HLD) requirements. The tech stack is expected to align with Azure data bricks.
• Designing an API or data model to enable the sending or provisioning of datasets to third parties.
• Further defining data models, interactions, monitoring, and alerting for the product end-to-end process as part of the Low-Level Design (LLD) requirements.
• Validating security controls and Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs).
• Ensuring the outcome will be a reviewed and approved HLD / LLD to enable the creation of the product.

 Skills / experience required:

• Knowledge of architectural frameworks and principles. This includes understanding how to design and implement scalable, robust systems.
• Proficiency in Azure data bricks, API design, and ETL processes. Familiarity with SOC APIs and secure data transmission protocols will also be beneficial.
• The ability to understand, define, and work with data models. This includes designing data models for APIs and third-party data provisioning.
• Experience in creating high-level and low-level design documents, including defining interactions, monitoring, alerting, and validating security controls and Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs).
• Understanding of risk management principles and the ability to identify and mitigate risks associated with solution implementation.
• Understanding of security controls to ensure the secure handling and transmission of commercially sensitive information.

Desirable:

• Logistics, supply chain or healthcare sector are preferred
• Experience of web based portals within these sectors would be highly advantageous
• Nice to have – understanding of upstream/manufacturing digital projects
