The Burford Recruitment Company is delighted to be working on behalf of a prestigious client near Lechlade to find an experienced Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in delivering exceptional, high-end dining experiences.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative and motivated Sous Chef who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced kitchen environment and is passionate about working with premium, locally sourced ingredients.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support the Head Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations

  • Contribute to the planning and execution of seasonal menus

  • Ensure the highest standards of food preparation, quality, and presentation

  • Supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff

  • Maintain hygiene standards and health & safety compliance

  • Manage stock levels, assist with ordering, and reduce waste

  • Take the lead in the Head Chef’s absence

  • Work collaboratively with the Front of House team to deliver exceptional guest experiences

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a high-end restaurant, luxury hotel, or private household

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Excellent culinary skills and eye for detail

  • A solid understanding of modern cooking techniques and industry trends

  • Ability to remain calm and consistent under pressure

  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best kitchen practices

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working in a luxury or fine dining environment

  • Formal culinary training or qualifications
