The Burford Recruitment Company is delighted to be working on behalf of a prestigious client near Lechlade to find an experienced Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in delivering exceptional, high-end dining experiences.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative and motivated Sous Chef who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced kitchen environment and is passionate about working with premium, locally sourced ingredients.
What you'll do:- Support the Head Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations
- Contribute to the planning and execution of seasonal menus
- Ensure the highest standards of food preparation, quality, and presentation
- Supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff
- Maintain hygiene standards and health & safety compliance
- Manage stock levels, assist with ordering, and reduce waste
- Take the lead in the Head Chef’s absence
- Work collaboratively with the Front of House team to deliver exceptional guest experiences
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a high-end restaurant, luxury hotel, or private household
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Excellent culinary skills and an eye for detail
- A solid understanding of modern cooking techniques and industry trends
- Ability to remain calm and consistent under pressure
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best kitchen practices
Desirable:
- Previous experience working in a luxury or fine dining environment
- Formal culinary training or qualifications
