AR587 – Health & Safety Coordinator (Part Time)

Salary: £29,000 (Pro Rata)
Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a part time Health & Safety Coordinator on behalf of one of our clients.
Working with colleagues across the business to coordinate, administer and implement a variety of health and safety systems and processes. This is a part time role working three days per week or the equivalent.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain records and statistics relating to health and safety hazards, near miss reporting, accidents and incidents.
- Assist in the ongoing development and implementation of effective health and safety systems, standards, policies and procedures.
- Participate in meetings when required to report on health and safety matters.
- Prepare presentations and reports for site and meetings with the Health and Safety team and for wider distribution.
- Provide administrative support to the Health and Safety team.
- Maintain the competency register of our contractors.
- Assist in internal audits both on site and at our external warehouses.
- Assist in the review of risk assessments for our operation.
- To work always in a professional manner, carrying out the duties outlined. All employees will comply with the Management System Documentation as required by the Quality Management Systems Standard (QMS) – ISO9001, British Retail Consortium Global Food Standard, Soil Association Organic Standard, Environmental Management System Standard ISO 14001, and any other standards/legal requirements pertinent to the role.
- The employee will comply with company policies and procedures outlined in their terms and conditions and those stated in the company handbook. This includes site hygiene, environmental and safety rules.
- To undertake training as and when required to enhance skills within the position. · To perform any other duties within their capability
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong IT skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office software
- Background in Health and Safety
- Excellent attention to detail · Good communicator
- Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work in and adapt to rapidly changing environment
- NEBOSH general certificate
- Experience in food or drink manufacturing or other FMCG environment (Desirable)
