Role: Business Intelligence Manager
Salary: Up to 80,000
Location: Leeds (2 days per week in the office)
Role Overview:
Our client, a prominent leader in the sports betting industry, is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Manager to join their team. This pivotal team underpins financial figures across all business streams and geographies within the Group, with a focus on the UK & Ireland markets, supporting notable brands.
The Finance Business Intelligence Manager will be instrumental in developing and executing the business intelligence strategy. This role demands the accurate definition and consistent delivery of financial metrics. The ideal candidate will excel at interpreting financial terms into actionable data definitions and crafting sustainable solutions for data presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Senior Manager in overseeing daily team operations, ensuring processes run smoothly, addressing issues, and managing stakeholder expectations.
- Develop and standardise data definitions for financial metrics across the Group.
- Act as a liaison between the Data team and business units, fostering strong relationships to ensure aligned perspectives.
- Support the integration of new brands into the Finance Data Delivery Model, including constructing revenue files.
- Provide technical assistance and cross-training to team members.
- Translate business requirements into specifications for data warehouse design and configuration.
- Collaborate with core Finance teams to meet statutory requirements and supply information for external auditors as necessary.
- Facilitate the rollout of Alteryx Server across Finance teams, optimising workflows.
- Utilise ETL tools to automate data storage and streamline processes.
- Design and implement best practices, guidelines, and repeatable processes for technology use.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong educational background.
- Proficiency with BI reporting and data visualisation solutions (Looker expertise is a plus).
- Solid understanding of financial terms and definitions.
- Interest in sports and betting.
- Skilled in SQL for modelling and querying relational databases, ensuring best practices.
- Knowledge of ETL tools.
- Professional and positive attitude with excellent time management, organisational, and multi-tasking abilities.
- Proactive and innovative, capable of identifying process improvements and assisting in their implementation.
- Excellent communication skills, essential for interaction within the team and across the wider business.
- Flexibility and enjoyment of a fast-paced, frequently changing environment.
