We are looking for a Service Transition Manager to help ensure new initiatives are designed to the standards defined by our IT Service practices in order to transition solutions into live that are fit for purpose and fit for use. You will also, as part of the Service Design and Transition team contribute to the overall success and ongoing improvement of the Service Design and Transition Framework and help drive a holistic approach to delivery.

You will be accountable for:

  • Managing a selection of project or product initiatives ensuring they are designed to the required standards and the required NFRs have been considered.
  • Ensuring the Service practice owners' requirements are met, or any appropriate risks are raised.
  • Reviewing the Business Requirements document and being an approver of the included Service NFRs.
  • Attending the Design review committee and helping to ensure any BAU support impacts are highlighted as part of DRC review.
  • Working with all Initiative stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to delivery.
  • Ensuring the knowledge transfer sessions and the warranty checkpoint meetings for assigned projects are completed.

To be successful in this role you will require the following…

  • Experience of introducing new IT services across a complex fast paced business.
  • Knowledge of the non-functional requirements and service levels needed to successfully transition and maintain a new IT service.
  • Experience of understanding and managing Acceptance into Service, knowledge transfer between technical and non-technical teams, engaging and participating in agile delivery squads.
  • Experience of working with 3rd party vendors delivering IT change.
  • Knowledge of the various ITIL Service disciplines and an understanding of how these can be applied within and outside of IT Service.
  • Familiarity of SLAs and a basic understanding of key commercial principles.
  • Understanding of RFP process, preferably with participation experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in the review and input to new contracts, specifically relating to the service and support elements.
  • Experience in working in an agile environment, where the majority of systems are cloud hosted.
  • Ability to communicate well with technical people, logically understand and interpret technical diagrams.
  • Ability to translate technical information to present to a non-technical audience.
  • Collaboration and influencing skills and active desire to drive improvements.
  • Demonstrable experience of designing Service Models and successfully delivering these into production.
  • Writing high quality documentation and proposals.
  • ITIL Foundation (either V3 or v4) is desirable
