Unite People are currently recruiting on behalf of an established regional civil engineering contractor for a Junior Planner to join their expanding Yorkshire team

Position Overview: As a Junior Planner, you will work closely with the existing Planning team to ensure the smooth execution of fast-paced civil engineering projects from the bid stage through to completion. This role offers a dynamic and supportive environment for the correct individual to kickstart their career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure consistent programme management across all projects.
  • Maintain control and traceability of project documentation from initiation to completion.
  • Prepare comprehensive project reports.
  • Monitor performance measurement criteria throughout a project's lifecycle, including Key Performance Indicators, milestone management, and trend analysis.
  • Provide training and support to non-planning project staff.
  • Keep detailed records and maintain a register of programme issues.
  • Set up protocols and manage supply chain programme production, issue, and acceptance.
  • Ensure proper integration of design and procurement elements of programmes with construction activities.
  • Collaborate with planning department peers to implement best practices and share knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate in Construction or Engineering.
  • Some knowledge/awareness of MS projects (beneficial)
  • Strong IT skills, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and software.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting at all levels and collaborating with suppliers and clients.
  • Ability to analyse data and produce detailed reports.
  • Quick learner with the ability to work well under pressure.
