Are you an experienced support worker or teaching assistant seeking a role in education?

A 'Good' rated Special School in Leeds is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join their team of support staff. The school caters for children and young people aged 4 to 18 years with Autism, Learning Disabilities, Complex Medical Conditions and Physical Disabilities.

The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant to start a long-term, full-time placement (Monday to Friday) to start as soon as possible until the end of the academic year and beyond. Full time and part time positions are available on a long-term basis and there are also opportunities for permanent roles at this school.

As a Teaching Assistant, your roles and responsibilities would be:

  • To work alongside the class teacher and support staff in the day-to-day running of their lessons.
  • To support with behaviour management and to act as a positive role model for the students.
  • To help run stimulating and exciting lessons which aim to enhance the sensory skills of the pupils.
  • To build strong relationships with the students to help them feel comfortable and safe.
  • To support the students with their day to day routine including assisting with personal care if required.
