FD Recruit is working exclusively with a family office SME to appoint a part time FD for 3 days per week, the role will be remote with attendance at meetings in the North West as required. Salary advertised is full time equivalent. Working with the owner who has investments in several entities, the FD will be responsible for the financial management and strategy across the portfolio, businesses mainly within property development and lettings. This role would suit a Finance Director or Financial Controller ready to step up and has responsibility for finance, compliance, banking and legal relationships. This is a hands-on role requiring flexibility to operate both operationally and strategically, providing recommendations and guidance to the owner.

The Finance Director will have the following responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, supporting and overseeing the output from bookkeeper.
  • For smaller investments, as stand-alone finance processional, process small number of transactions using Sage and produce monthly reports.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Oversee compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and banking relationships.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Provide insightful monthly analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Identify potential acquisition targets when required, conducting detailed due diligence on potential acquisitions.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to formulate and execute strategic financial initiatives.
  • Assess and communicate the financial impact of business decisions.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders .

Qualifications:

  • Qualified finance professional (CIMA, ACCA or ACA), qualified by experience also considered.
  • Previous experience as an FD within a small business.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to operate both operationally in a hands on capacity within a small business and also to provide strategically direction and guidance.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.

The salary advertised for this role is a guideline and the salary offered will be commensurate with experience.
