Alternative Provision Behaviour Mentor

Engage Education are looking for a caring and dedicated Alternative Provision Behaviour Mentor in Leeds.

This position is at a specialist school providing excellent teaching for young people aged 11 to 16, who have a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The school offers a variety of enriching educational opportunities for pupils including academic, functional and vocational skills. You will connect directly with young people, guiding them to get the very best from their education.

This role is a full-time position (Monday to Friday) which would become permanent after a 12 week probationary period.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Working 1:1 or with a small group of children to support their teaching and learning.
  • Be able to adapt to the needs of the child in lessons and assist them in their school day
  • Promote positive behaviour.
  • A dedication to the safeguarding of young people.

Requirements:

  • A resilient attitude and range of behavior management techniques.
  • To have worked with people with a range of needs (experience with young people with SEND desirable).
  • A positive and caring nature.
  • A dedication to enhancing young people's learning.
  • A commitment to working at the school for a consistent period of time
