Purpose of the Area Sales Engineer role:

The Area Sales Engineer will play a pivotal role in expanding our customer base and maintaining strong connections with current clients. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of compressed air and gases, coupled with excellent communication and collaboration skills. This role requires a proactive individual with the ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and thrive in a dynamic sales environment.

Main duties and responsibilities of the Area Sales Engineer role:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Northern UK territory.
  • Keep up to date on industry trends and customer needs.
  • Nurture and strengthen relationships with existing clients.
  • Provide excellent customer support and address inquiries or concerns promptly.
  • Collaborate with other areas of the business to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Possess a good understanding of compressed air and gases and their applications.
  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan for the assigned territory.
  • Plan and schedule customer visits, ensuring effective time management.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions in CRM.
  • After undergoing comprehensive training to gain in-depth knowledge of our processes and product offerings, you will be responsible for crafting tailored solutions to meet the unique needs of our customers.
  • You will ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining regular contact with customers, responding quickly and professionally to enquiries, and following up on quotations and leads.
  • Together with your international colleagues, you will contribute to consistent and profitable sales growth.

Experience/knowledge requirements for the Area Sales Engineer role:  

  • Previous relevant professional experience in a technical sales role, either internal or external.
  • Practical knowledge of MS Office, as well as experience with CRM systems is essential.
  • A good understanding of compressed air or gases is necessary, industry experience is desirable.
  • Willingness to travel for regular customer visits (North UK responsibility) including overnight stays, as well some yearly EMEA travel.
  • Full clean Driving license required
