Shirley Parsons have exclusively partnered with The University of Leeds to appoint their Head of Health and Safety. This opportunity welcomes experienced Health and Safety professionals, who are looking for a new challenge in a fast paced and dynamic environment. Supporting the Director of Wellbeing, Safety and Health, you will assume responsibility for developing and implementing the University safety strategy and will lead members of the service to implement these aims.

The Head of Health and Safety will be responsible for:

• Driving forward improvements in the University’s occupational health and safety management system, achieving and maintaining ISO 45001
• Leading a team of Senior Health and Safety professionals
• Engaging and establishing strong working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
• Deputising for the Director of Wellbeing, Safety and Health where required.
• Providing competent, solutions orientated health and safety advice, support and guidance

The Head of Health and Safety will have:

• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent level health and safety qualification
• Chartered membership with IOSH
• Extensive experience as a Health and Safety leader within a large complex environment
• The ability to lead, manage and motivate a team of Senior Health and Safety professionals
• Demonstrable commitment to workplace health and wellbeing
