We have an exciting vacancy for a Pipelines Operations Manager (OM)?here at NGN. The OM reports to and closely supports the Business Operations Lead (BOL) with responsibility for their assigned area.

Your key accountabilities and responsibilities will include
• The number of direct and indirect reports will vary depending on the geographical area typically 15/120
• As an OM you will support the BOL and work in conjunction with business support roles and planning functions
• Responsibility for supporting BOL in achieving budget of up to £10-£12 million within allocated region
• You will be responsible (but not limited to) the specific local end-to-end emergency and repair activities in-line with NGN safety case, HSE and Ofgem regulatory license requirements. You will have additional responsibility for the delivery and compliance of the maintenance work baskets in the specific area
• Success for this role is supporting the BOL in maintaining and improving customer scores, accurate forecasting and budgets, delivering jobs in line with quoted cost and duration (connections), improving our already exemplary performance in site safety, road traffic collisions, non-lost time injuries, lost time injuries and members of public injuries
• Along with day-to-day responsibility of the key deliverables, you will continue to personally develop, taking time to reflect on your individual performance and continue to develop your self-awareness in line with the wider aims of citizenship within the business
• Areas of Influence - You will hold responsibility to the BOL for the effective delivery of all NGN workstreams including, Network Maintenance Mechanical and Capital Projects. You will also play a key part in ensuring a standardised delivery across the network. Build and maintain good working relationships with your counterparts in other areas to ensure commonality of process, and consistency of approach
• You will be expected to participate in a 24 hour senior manager standby rota

What skills and experience are we looking for
• Experience within a similar operational leadership role in managing and delivering operational objectives on high pressure pipelines
• Experience of compliance requirements for onshore natural gas pipelines ranging in with working knowledge associated policies and procedures.
• Experience in asset protection and an understanding of the principles of Cathodic Protection
• Development of people alongside creating and implementing long-term resource plans
• Preferable with SCO 1, 2 and 4 competence
• Preferable Mechanical Maintenance experience
• Management of customer and stakeholder relationships, driving to exceed expectations
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to energise and gain support from others
• Solid decision-making skills with the ability to understand and interpret complex data
• Capable of managing multi-discipline teams to deliver excellent customer service
• Commercial insight with the ability to maximise opportunities, balancing costs and risks alongside sound financial appreciation
• Results driven with the ability to deliver a step change in performance
• Performance leadership by taking appropriate action to address performance issues
• Understanding of others with the ability to adopt personal behaviour to get the best from others
• 360 influencing skills, Stakeholders, Customers, Direct Service Providers, Internal and external contractors with experience of managing Trade Union relations
• Open to candid feedback, new perspectives alongside continuous learning and self-development with the ability to present yourself with self-assurance and have presence with the ability to voice views that could be seen as different
• Full UK driving licence

• A competitive, starting salary from £63,061
• £6,500 cash/car allowance
• 40 hours per week
• Up to 15%?bonus (dependent upon achievement of set targets)
• 25 days annual leave (plus recognised bank holidays and 2 half days over the Christmas period)
• SSP for first 7 calendar days then occupational sick pay
