We are seeking a dedicated Supervising Social Worker to join our team. This role involves supervising and supporting a diverse range of foster carers and children to ensure that children are safe, well cared for, and achieve positive outcomes in line with our strategic objectives.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Supervision and Support: Provide regular support to foster carers through telephone and supervisory visits, including annual unannounced visits, ensuring all interactions are recorded as per policy.
  • Child Visitation: Ensure that children are visited regularly, their voices are heard, and they are actively included in activities.
  • Advocacy and Development: Act as an advocate for children and identify professional development needs for foster families, delivering training and facilitating support groups as required.
  • Assessment and Reporting: Prepare and present reports for annual foster carer reviews to the fostering panel. Undertake fostering assessments using the Form F template and participate in recruitment activities.
  • Compliance and Safety: Monitor the suitability and competence of foster carers, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and fostering regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience: Proven background in social work, specifically in a supervisory role within the fostering sector.
  • Qualifications: Degree in Social Work with a valid registration.
  • Skills: Strong advocacy, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in using CHARMS and other relevant software.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Fostering Service Regulations (England) and the National Minimum Standards 2011.
