About Us: Randstad are currently recruiting for a Special Educational Needs Teacher to join a specialised Autism school in Leeds. The school is dedicated to providing a supportive and enriching learning environment for students on the autism spectrum. Job Overview: As a SEN Teacher in an LD and autism-focused school, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality education tailored to meet the diverse needs of students. Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, you will create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet the varying needs of students on the autism spectrum.
  • Develop and implement Education Care Plans (ECPs) for each student.
  • Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment that promotes sensory awareness and accommodates individual learning styles.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to students' education and well-being.
  • Utilise effective communication strategies to engage with students and facilitate their social and emotional development.
  • Work closely with parents and external professionals to provide ongoing support and feedback.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a background in Special Education.
  • Experience working with students on the autism spectrum.
  • Knowledge of autism-specific teaching strategies and interventions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.
