I am currently recruiting for a Chef on behalf of my client, a leading public sector organisation based in Leicestershire (LE2).

You will provide an outstanding catering service to service users.

Duties of the Chef will include:

  • To maintain food hygiene and safety requirements including daily audits of standards
  • To comply with the approved menu and enhance wherever cost effective.
  • To provide nourishing, cost effective and attractive meals.
  • To meet special dietary requirements, i.e. vegetarian and food intolerances.
  • To contribute to a welcoming and supportive and clean environment.
  • Prepares, cooks, and serves main meals, and snacks.
  • Prepares packed meals, as required by the service.
  • Records equipment status and stock levels, notifying any shortages or food deterioration and equipment failures.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A catering qualification would be an advantage.
  • A basic Food Safety qualification.
  • Previous residential catering / cafeteria experience.
  • Appreciation of ethnic minority and other special dietary requirements.
  • Ability to take sole responsibility for providing wholesome ‘home-cooking’ for approximately 45 people.

Ideally working Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm with a 30 minute lunch. If you would want to work at the weekends as well, this is open to discussion. Examples of a rota – 8am to 4pm / 2-week rota which consists of working Monday through to Friday & Monday through to Wednesday & Saturday & Sunday.

Pay is from £12.81- £13.70 per hour PAYE.
