Engineering @ 365 are currently working witha leading architectural metal fabrication company specialising in the design, fabrication, and installation of high-quality metal structures based in Leicesterwho are recruiting for an estimator on apermanent basis.

Job Description:

As an Estimator at you will play a key role in the project lifecycle by accurately estimating costs for architectural metal fabrication projects. Working closely with the sales, design, and production teams, you will analyse project specifications and materials to prepare comprehensive cost estimates and proposals for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project requirements to understand scope and materials needed for each project.
  • Analyse project components, including structural requirements, material types, finishes, and installation methods to determine accurate cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with sales and design teams to develop project proposals that meet client specifications and budgetary constraints.
  • Utilise estimating software and tools to generate detailed cost breakdowns, including labour, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities for cost savings or value engineering during the estimation process.
  • Present cost estimates and proposals to clients, addressing any questions or concerns to secure project contracts.
  • Maintain accurate records of project estimates, including revisions, updates, and historical data for future reference.
  • Coordinate with project managers and production teams to ensure seamless transition from estimation to project execution.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an estimator in the architectural metal fabrication industry, with a strong understanding of metal fabrication processes, materials, and techniques.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to accurately assess project requirements and calculate cost estimates.
  • Advanced proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as Bluebeam, Autodesk Revit, or similar programmes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and interact professionally with clients.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
