The Role: Technical Project Manager (Telecoms)
Location: Home based with occasional business travel.
Contract role running until September 2024.
Rate: £350 per day
This is a new contract role, and we are looking for a technology project manager to join this ISP / Telecoms company as they look to move through a period of technical innovation.
The contract will likely be running until September 2024 and while you will likely be involved in a couple of different technology projects in their CTIO group, the main focus will be about leading a project linked to one touch switching.
This isn't a hands on technical project role that will focus on the likes of architecture, more a true project management role, focused on governance, project support, reporting and stakeholder management - groups to include OSS/BSS, alongside OFCOM liaison.
Telecoms / ISP / FTTP sector background is probably going to be essential and ideally, knowledge of the general one touch switch process, however, one touch switching isn't absolutely key, just a real bonus so someone from telecoms technology with those strong governance and project delivery skills should be able to pick things up quickly.
The one touch switch will be the key focus, but you'll also be able to contribute to other projects such as a voice / telephony integration replacement project linked to Salesforce.
Flexible on location, with common sense business travel occasionally but a base somewhere in the Midlands might be a useful starting point due to general location of some of the team.
Key points - Knowledge of one touch switch (ideal), salesforce system knowledge / technology integration via salesforce (Nice to have), telecoms / ISP project management, Prince 2 or other recognised project methodology alongside the typical project management software, ability to juggle multiple projects.
Crucial points would be the project governance, reporting / planning / milestones and a polite yet firm personality with the ability to deal with highly technical stakeholders.
This is a fast paced environment and you are going to need to be hot when it comes to time management and prioritisation. Think on your feet, and make things happen will likely be a decent mantra so this is a role for someone that isn't easily rattled and perhaps has some grounding when it comes to being around the alt-net space and the general culture of rapid growth, technology companies.
