As they continue to grow, they are seeking a skilled Machine Tool Fitter / Mechanical Fitter to join their dynamic team in the workshop on a day shift.

Job Overview:

Our client is looking for an experienced Machine Tool Fitter / Mechanical Fitter to assist in building their specialised machinery in the workshop. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical fitting and alignment, with the ability to work accurately and efficiently to meet project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

Assemble and build special purpose machinery according to engineering drawings and specifications.
Conduct mechanical alignment and ensure all components are correctly fitted and aligned.
Perform equipment modifications and upgrades as required to meet client specifications or improve performance.
Collaborate with the engineering team to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions.
Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
Maintain accurate records of assembly and fitting work, including parts used and time spent on each task.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workshop efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Machine Tool Fitter / Mechanical Fitter, preferably within the special purpose machinery industry.
Strong technical knowledge of mechanical fitting and alignment, including the use of alignment tools and techniques.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Proficient in the use of hand and power tools relevant to mechanical fitting.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients.
Understanding of health and safety regulations and practices.
A proactive and self-motivated approach to work.
