MHE Maintenance Leader

In line with highly ambitious growth plans coupled with a £multi-million investment in infrastructure and operations, an experienced Maintenance Leader with proven Supervisory / Management experience is sought to lead a team of 5+ Maintenance Engineers & Technicians within a high volume, fast-moving automated warehouse and distribution environment.

Forming part of the leadership team, this newly created role comes with significant scope and influence with onward development assured.

Job Title:  MHE Maintenance Leader

Commute from: Leicester, Derby, Loughborough, Hinkley, Tamworth, Burton upon Trent

Salary: to £48,000 + Benefits + Day Shifts

The Role 

• Responsible for leading the MHE maintenance department, ensuring availability and reliability of operational equipment is achieved to the highest degree.
• Mentor, guide, monitor and develop the team in a way that promotes best practice methodology.
• Support the implementation of Continuous Improvement opportunities including budgetary controls.
• Ensure that H&S standards are designed into maintenance tasks and modifications. Implementing and monitoring risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Manage the maintenance calendar ensuring all maintenance procedures are completed to excellent standards enabling high performance and reliability of the equipment.
• Support audits of site performance and challenge current maintenance strategies to ensure maximum value is maintained.
• Prioritise and plan MHE repairs with minimal disruption in line with business needs.
• Management of legislative requirements of maintenance on equipment including LOLER Certification
• Delivering performance KPI’s such as safety compliance, spares management, cost control and maintenance turnaround.
• Complete Team Reviews, identifying and supporting development requirements for direct reports.

The Person 

• Industry experience of MHE within an automated warehouse / logistics environment.
• Proven problem-solving and leadership qualities including previous leadership of a maintenance department with a focus on MHE.
• Adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment and be adaptable to change coupled with strong planning and organisational skills.
• Broad understanding of Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic technical manuals & drawings coupled with LOLER certification.
