About the RoleWe're looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll & Pensions Specialist to manage payroll operations across our organisation and its subsidiaries. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone ready to take the next step in their payroll career, with exposure to both LGPS and TPS pension schemes.
Key Responsibilities- Process and manage monthly payroll, including pension submissions and BACs payments.
- Maintain accurate HR and payroll records.
- Respond to payroll-related queries from employees, HMRC, and third parties.
- Ensure data confidentiality and compliance with payroll legislation.
- Produce payroll and service delivery reports.
- Support the onboarding of new clients and recommend process improvements.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Deputise for the Payroll & Pensions Deputy Manager as needed.
- Assist the Payroll & Pensions Supervisor with day-to-day operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- CIPP qualified or 3+ years of hands-on payroll experience.
- Strong understanding of the full employee lifecycle and pension schemes (LGPS & TPS).
- Experience using integrated HR/payroll systems (e.g., SAP, iTrent).
Skills:
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Excel (including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong customer service mindset.
