Payroll & Pensions Specialist

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll & Pensions Specialist to manage payroll operations across our organisation and its subsidiaries. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone ready to take the next step in their payroll career, with exposure to both LGPS and TPS pension schemes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and manage monthly payroll, including pension submissions and BACs payments.
  • Maintain accurate HR and payroll records.
  • Respond to payroll-related queries from employees, HMRC, and third parties.
  • Ensure data confidentiality and compliance with payroll legislation.
  • Produce payroll and service delivery reports.
  • Support the onboarding of new clients and recommend process improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Deputise for the Payroll & Pensions Deputy Manager as needed.
  • Assist the Payroll & Pensions Supervisor with day-to-day operations.
What We're Looking For

Qualifications & Experience:

  • CIPP qualified or 3+ years of hands-on payroll experience.
  • Strong understanding of the full employee lifecycle and pension schemes (LGPS & TPS).
  • Experience using integrated HR/payroll systems (e.g., SAP, iTrent).

Skills:

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Excel (including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong customer service mindset.
