Contract Manager – Multi Sector

Position Overview: Our client is looking for an experienced Contract Manager to oversee the successful execution of multiple projects simultaneously, with values of up to £5 million. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing JCT contracts, CVIs, and RFIs within the construction industry. Reporting to the Commercial Director, the Contract Manager will play a key role in ensuring the efficient delivery of projects, maintaining strong client relationships, and maximizing profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full lifecycle of multiple construction projects, from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and quality standards.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders, fostering positive relationships and resolving any issues or disputes that may arise.
  • Coordinate with the commercial team to review and negotiate contracts, CVIs, and RFIs, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, resource plans, and budgets, monitoring progress and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Lead regular project meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders to communicate project status, address challenges, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and project correspondence, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize project delays and cost overruns.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, motivating and empowering team members to achieve project goals and deliver exceptional results.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. Professional certification (e.g., MRICS, MCIOB) preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Contract Manager or similar role within the construction industry, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of JCT contracts, CVIs, and RFIs, with a demonstrated ability to negotiate and administer contracts effectively.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Sound financial acumen and experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities and requirements.
