The Role

As a Fleet Compliance Manager, you'll be responsible for owning and delivering industry specific fleet accreditations. You will support the Transport Manager on matters of regulatory and legislative compliance as well as leading the Abnormal Loads function for the business through the management of the Abnormal Loads Team, ensuring that the submission and distribution of routing requests for the business are, always, legal, compliant and completed with defined timescales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ownership of industry specific fleet accreditations such as FORS, DVSA Earned Recognition, through the accurate creation, analysis and collation of administration, management audit systems promoting a Right First Time ethos.
  • Ensuring that all legal, H&S and industry specific training (FORS/ER/DCPC) is planned and delivered alongside the Training Department and Training Providers where required, in line with defined timelines, supporting Transport, Area Operations Teams and the Depot network.
  • Provide reasoned advice and guidance on legal and industry compliance matters, ensuring the business is both ahead of and kept up to date of any changes to legislation and national or local policy.
  • Ownership of the administration process of On Boarding' of all new Transport subcontractors to ensure their compliance regime meets ACH requirements.
  • Supporting the business through analysis of KPI and MI reports, making observations on trends and working to improve performance where issues identified.
  • To lead as the ACH subject matter expert on Abnormal Loads legislation, regulations, and process.
  • Represent ACH through the ownership of the working relationships with Police Forces, Local Authorities, and other statutory bodies.
  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the Abnormal Loads Team, their process and task.
  • Responsible for the accurate creation of Movement Orders using Abnormal Load planning software in line with STGO legislation.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the routing database and data entry so that our routes always remain active and compliant.
  • Quality checking submitted routes, owning Operator/Driver feedback, and conducting fact finding investigations into routing issues as they occur.


Requirements

  • Strong Fleet/ Transport / logistics compliance and audit experience.
  • Experience in learning and development, with focus on industry specific training.
  • An effective communicator able to influence at all levels.
  • Proven track record of customer-facing experience working to clearly defined service level agreements.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of working within a time critical service environment.

Qualifications

  • FORS Practitioner - Essential
  • Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) - Desirable
  • A levels/Degree - Desirable
  • Holds a vails UK licence
