Facilities and H&S Coordinator

Salary – £25,000 to £30,000 p.a.

Campbells Prime Meat Ltd is Scotland’s leading meat, fish and delicatessen supplier to hotels and restaurants. A vacancy has arisen for a Facilities and H&S Coordinator to join the team. This role will support the Facilities and Health & Safety Manager in the day to day running of the food manufacturing facility in Linlithgow and ensure that all H&S legislation and compliance is adhered to. This role would ideally suit a graduate in a relevant discipline.

The Role

  • Assist with the development of effective health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Carry out risk assessments and formulate safe systems of work.
  • Assist with the investigation of incidents, accidents and near misses.
  • Perform regular workplace inspections to ensure compliance with H&S and food safety standards.
  • Ensure key compliance records are kept up to date.
  • Plan and schedule service and maintenance activities to ensure plant and equipment always remains in service and calibrated.
  • Maintain the list of approved contractors and make sure 3rd party documentation and accreditation is up to date.
  • Host 3rd party contractor visits and ensure work is carried out in a safe manner.
  • Conduct tests and inspections on key plant and equipment such as refrigeration systems, private water supplies and backup generator.
  • Participate in statutory compliance activities such as fire alarm testing and legionella control tasks.
  • Project support as and when required.
  • Monitor and measure environmental data and prepare regular reports.
  • Deputise for the Facilities and Health & Safety Manger as and when required.
  • Any other reasonable request or duty as requested by the Facilities and Health & Safety Manager

Ideal Candidate

  • Reliable, committed and organised.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills – able to interact with anyone and everyone.
  • Excellent written communication and report writing skills.
  • A H&S qualification would be desirable.
  • Experience with maintenance management software desirable but not essential.
  • Administrative experience ideally with facilities exposure too.
  • Previous work in a factory environment (preferably in the food sector) would be advantageous.

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday (day shift).Salary is negotiable, depending on experience.
