Staffline are recruiting for a Prison Custody Officer to work for our client, G4S, a leading global security and outsourcing group, specialising in the outsourcing of business processes in sectors where security and safety risks are considered a strategic threat.

Earn £27,667.28 per annum, increasing to £29,806.22 based on length of service.

You will work across a variety of shifts in this full-time role including days, nights and weekends.

Each week, you will work an average of 39 hours, with the option to increase to 44 hours per week (the starting salary for this would be £32,991.08).

Overtime is also available in this role.

The philosophy of G4S' prisons is to rehabilitate offenders and equip them to re-integrate into mainstream society on release. We seek to normalise prison conditions as far as possible to reflect life in the outside community. Our aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe.

Your Time at Work
Your time at work will consist of playing a key role in providing prisoners with structure and routine.

You will make sure prisoners are actively engaging in education or work within the prison regime and securing them in their cell in the evening.

The people in your care will have a variety of different needs. Your role is to ensure those individuals are treated with dignity and respect, to help them find a new way of life, in a safe, secure and structured environment.

Our perfect Prison Custody Officer would be able to demonstrate integrity, resilience and strong communication skills, to thrive in this role.

No specific qualifications or relevant experience are required in this role. Full training is provided, designed to equip successful candidates with the skills and knowledge to deliver every aspect of being an effective Prison Custody Officer.
