Our client, a specialist in the fire industry, is seeking a detail-driven and commercially aware Estimator to join their expanding team.

Working on a diverse range of projects throughout the UK, Ireland, and Europe, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to critical fire safety solutions on major construction sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and pricing for tender submissions and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).

  • Maintain and update estimating registers and pricing databases.

  • Interpret drawings and specifications to develop accurate takeoffs and cost breakdowns.

  • Liaise with client estimating teams to ensure alignment on scope and commercial expectations.

  • Support the Contracts and QS teams by offering commercial insights and accurate cost projections.

  • Assist in identifying value engineering opportunities and potential commercial risks.

  • Contribute to the preparation of tender submissions and post-tender clarifications.

  • Support the negotiation of subcontractor and supplier packages.

  • Ensure consistency and accuracy in all estimating documentation and communication.

  • Provide cost comparisons and analysis to support internal decision-making.



Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in an Estimating, Quantity Surveying, or similar commercial role.

  • Strong understanding of construction drawings and specification documents.

  • Experience with various forms of contract and tendering processes.

  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple estimates across different project stages and geographies.

  • IT literate with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.

  • Knowledge or experience in passive fire protection (especially firestopping) is highly advantageous.
