The RoleThe Financial Accountant will report to the Financial Accounting Manager and will be responsible for delivering high-quality financial accounting services across the organisation. They will oversee the month-end process, and manage a team of part-qualified accountants.
Key Responsibilities-
Manage and support a team of part-qualified accountants

Deputise for the Financial Accounting Manager as required to ensure continuity of leadership

Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies in line with IFRS, and regulatory standards

Oversee the month-end process, including journal reviews and financial ledger accuracy

Ensure timely and accurate completion of balance sheet reconciliations
-
Review and approve bad debt provisions and support credit control processes

Support statutory audits through preparation of year-end working papers and other relevant documentation
-
Act as a subject matter expert and provide guidance on complex financial queries

Drive improvements within the financial accounting function through stakeholder feedback and process reviews
Essential Skills and Experience:

A recognised professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)

Strong technical accounting knowledge

Experience in a finance management role, ideally within financial accounting or reporting
-
Sound understanding of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements

High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities to tight deadlines

Strong analytical skills and the ability to deliver meaningful financial insights
-
Proven stakeholder management experience, both internal and external
