Location: South Liverpool
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, Hybrid Working
Overview
We're currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join a well-established organisation in South Liverpool on a 9-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will be pivotal in ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting, as well as managing a team of part-qualified accountants.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of part-qualified accountants
Step in for the Finance Manager when required, ensuring consistent leadership across the finance function
Maintain and enhance accounting policies in accordance with IFRS and regulatory frameworks
Manage the month-end close process, including journal approvals and ensuring general ledger accuracy
Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy
Oversee bad debt provision reviews and support credit control activities
Assist with year-end audit preparation, including working papers and supporting documentation
Provide expert advice on technical accounting issues and complex queries
Continuously improve processes based on feedback and internal reviews
About You
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and principles
Previous experience in a financial accounting or reporting leadership role
Up-to-date understanding of relevant legislation and compliance requirements
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage competing deadlines
