Resourcery Group are working with an international private equity-backed business located in Liverpool. Our client is looking to bring on board an immediately available interim financial controller for a 6-12 month assignment. This role offers hybrid working with three days on site and two working from home. You will be the key support working alongside the CFO and managing the day-to-day operations of the finance function. The role is being offered on a fixed term contract basis £70,000 - £80,000 per annum.Â
The Interim Financial Controller's role:
- Running the day to day finance team and supporting the CFO with the delivery of financial strategy.
- Lead and oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsÂ
- Ensure timely and accurate group consolidation of financial reports across all subsidiaries.
- Maintain robust financial controls, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Manage the year-end audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making by senior management.
- Ownership of Group P&L, cashflow & balance sheet performance including cashflow forecasting and working capital management
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, working closely with business units.
- Analyse financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities, and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure effective cash flow management, liquidity planning, and working capital optimisation.
- Develop and monitor financial KPIs to track business performance.
- Oversee tax compliance, including VAT, corporation tax, and other statutory filings.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards across the group.
- Implement and enhance internal financial controls to mitigate risk and improve efficiency.
- Maintain relationships with external financial institutions, banks, PE investors, tax authorities, and auditors
The ideal candidate:
- Be a fully qualified accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA
- Have proven leadership skills and managing a small team
- Be able to add value and improving processes and controls
- Be available at short notice for interview and to start
- Can be on site 3 days per week
