Our client was founded in 2009 as one of the first law practices to adopt a limited liability company structure, they are a new-model law firm providing a more dynamic, forward-thinking, and independent environment in which to practise for senior lawyers, underpinned by unparalleled administrative, compliance and technological support.

The firm has grown to a team of 200+ partner-level lawyers, with year-on-year growth. The firm has ten UK offices in London (x3), Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, Chester, Leicester Birmingham, and Stoke-on-Trent.

They are now looking for a Legal Cashier to join their Finance team. Working closely as part of a team of cashiers you will play an important role in supporting the business and our nationwide team of consultant lawyers on all aspects of legal accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Processing all accounting transactions in accordance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules, Anti-Money Laundering Regs and firm’s Financial Procedures Policy.
  • Monitoring receipt of funds to client and office accounts.
  • Daily bank reconciliations for client and office accounts.
  • Completing month and year end processes.
  • Preparing Vat reports.
  • Checking that all payment and receipt requests are properly authorized and verified in accordance with financial procedures.
  • Setting up of banking payments for authorization.
  • Responding to legal cashiering accounts queries.
  • Review and processing of client invoices and WIP.
  • Managing and processing the accounts payable ledger.
  • Supporting queries relating to the annual audit requirements pursuant to SARs.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience of legal cashiering.
  • ILFM qualification (not essential provided sound legal cashiering experience).
  • Experience of Quill Pinpoint case management software (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong numerical & analytical skills.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office packages, in particular Excel.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Well organised with strong time management skills.
  • Efficient, reliable & focused.
  • Professional communication skills both verbal and written.
