To help establish and deliver new processes to ensure repairs and investment programme works are delivered effectively and provide a safe, secure and comfortable living environment for all residents. To lead and manage internal repair and investment team members, ensuring skills are developed to create an innovative, value for money service with the potential for business growth to offer services to external organisations.

I am working collaboratively with a not for profit national housing provider who are looking to add to their team. Description

  • Collaborate with the repairs and investment team to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives for the maintenance, refurbishment, and improvement of our housing stock.
  • Conduct comprehensive building surveys and assessments to identify maintenance needs, repair priorities, and investment opportunities.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on building construction, repair methods, materials, and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Develop specifications, schedules of work, and cost estimates for repair and improvement projects, overseeing procurement processes and contractor management.
  • Monitor project progress, quality, and costs, and provide regular updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure the successful delivery of repair and investment projects.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments, best practices, and emerging trends in building surveying and social housing to inform decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.

Profile

  • Degree or HNC qualification in Building Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in building surveying, maintenance management, or a similar role within the social housing sector, with a focus on homes for the elderly.
  • Strong knowledge of building construction, repair methods, materials, and regulatory requirements relevant to social housing.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Job Offer

  • 35 hours per week working day Monday to Friday 9.00 to 16:30
  • 25 days holidays plus Bank Holidays
  • Life Assurance (three times salary)
  • 6% employer contribution pension scheme, employee contribution min 4%
  • Sick Pay - four weeks full, four weeks half pay, inclusive of SSP, once 6 months service has been completed. Prior to this any sick pay will be paid at the rate of SSP only, subject to qualifying criteria for SSP.
  • Travel expenses at 45p per mile
  • Hybrid working 2-3 days office/on site based a week
