Your new companyHays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a number of mainstream primary schools in Allerton, Liverpool as they require motivated and experienced Teaching Assistants to support students in all primary key stages. This is a long-term temporary contract lasting until the end of the academic year with the possibility to go permanent from next academic year. Ideally, we are looking for someone that can commit to full-time equivalent hours, but part-time options are available. Your new roleIn your new role as a Primary School Teaching Assistant with Hays you will have the opportunity to work in one of a number of schools in the Liverpool area. As we are currently recruiting for a number of live roles you will have the opportunity to work in a key stage of your choosing or you will be given the opportunity to gain invaluable experience with a new key stage. You will work alongside class teachers and your new colleagues to promote a stimulating, inclusive, and accessible learning environment and offer 1:1 and group support in all subjects. Other duties will include intervention and booster sessions, phonics, classroom management, behaviour management and building the self-esteem of your new pupils.What you'll need to succeedTo be successful with your application, you need full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience supporting children and young people in the last 2 years, as well as:

  • Previous experience working with children/students between the ages of 5 - 11
  • An NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in supporting teaching and learning is advantageous but not essential
  • The ability to take a person-centred approach to learning
